Does free tuition mean free college?

Tuition-free college will help thousands of South Carolina students pursue their educational goals. 

 But tuition is only part of the picture.  

Books, equipment, transportation and living expenses are often not supported by public funding sources, putting a college education out of reach for many.

Through the Trident Opportunity Fund, the TTC Foundation helps students fill those gaps with critical programs like:

• Scholarships, which are not restricted to tuition and may be used for living and other expenses

• Student Urgent Needs, helping students stay enrolled when emergencies happen

• Grocery Vault, helping students feed their families

Annual donations to the Trident Opportunity Fund from TTC friends and alumni are the reason why hundreds more students will be able to overcome obstacles, reach their goals and give back to the community.
