How to Apply and Register

Now it is time to get down to business and start your college career. Below are five steps to help you apply to the college, register and get ready for class!

  1. Apply Now -Whether you are a new applicant to TTC or a returning student, create an account on Apply Now and complete the online application. Check out the how-to video on this page for step-by-step instructions.

Once you have completed and submitted your application, you will be able to view any supplemental items needed to complete your application steps on your Apply Now account.

  • Proof of high school graduation or a GED (required to receive financial aid)
    • Copy of high school diploma or GED
      Or
    • Official high school transcript showing graduation date (preferred)
      • You may ask your high school to send a copy to admissionsdocs@tridenttech.edu, have it mailed directly from your school, or hand deliver to TTC Admissions in a sealed envelope.
      • Request a copy online from Parchment (there is a fee); electronic copy sent to TTC.

  • Verification of legal presence in the United States
    • Required for all new applicants, per South Carolina law
    • For most students the documentation required is a clear picture/copy of a driver’s license or state-issued identification card.

    • A Hub Leader, or your Navigator, can help you choose the best option.
  1. Financial Aid - Apply for all aid, including SC lottery-funded tuition assistance, by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Some state scholarships (LIFE) and aid programs may not require a FAFSA, but students are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA and have their results sent to TTC.
  2. Orientation - Complete a Navigate to Success session in-person or online.
  3. Register - Make an appointment and meet with your assigned academic advisor or Navigator to register for classes. Once you register, purchase your books and obtain your Student ID.
  4. Pay Tuition - Pay tuition and fees by the published deadlines.

Attend Classes - Congratulations! You are now ready to attend class. Check the calendar to see when classes start. Be sure to attend class or log in and participate in an online class on the first day so you are not dropped from the class roster.

Online Application

Creating your Apply Now account and submitting your application electronically is the quickest and easiest way to apply. This allows TTC to communicate with you through your personal email about the status of your application. It also ensures the accuracy of your data. Once you have applied, you will also be able to review and upload many of the supplemental items that are needed to complete your application. These supplemental items are based on the type or category of student, such as first-time freshman, transfer or returning student.

Save time – upload or email your documentation
Once you have submitted your application through Apply Now, you can upload many of your required documents instead of waiting in line! Required documents may include a state-issued ID card/driver's license, copy of high school diploma/GED, high school transcripts, and any standardized test results (SAT/ACT/ACCUPLACER). When submitting official documents from other sources, such as official college or high school transcripts, please have any documents sent directly from the college/school to admissionsdocs@tridenttech.edu or through services like the National Clearinghouse or Parchment. If electronic submission is not possible, please have them mailed directly to the Admissions office at Trident Technical College

If you have questions about determining or establishing classification as a South Carolina resident for tuition purposes, you may visit the Residency page or email specific questions to Norman Ashbee, Admissions residency coordinator, at norman.ashbee@tridenttech.edu.

Paper Application

If you are unable to access Apply Now, you may print the admission application. Once you have completed the form, you can mail, email or bring the application to an Admissions office on any Trident Technical College campus. Paper applications are also available at the Admissions office.
